Watch Online Utt Pataang (2011) Movie

Genre - Comedy

It' s now a known fact that small movies packed with its share of innovation and reality is always going to be a win-win prospect when compared to biggies. Last year when so may biggies like Raavan and Kites bite the dust without even a battling an eyelid, small movies like Love Sex Aur Dhokha, Phas Gaye Re Obama and Udaan worked big time.

If a movie, no matter who its stars are if has got enough meat in it then no one shall stop it from succeeding at the box-office.

Utt Patang is one such movie that has its heart in right place and what unfolds in the narrative is a pleasant surprise. In a bollywood behavioral survey that was done to know what a potential movie goer eventually wants. What comes out as the result is not shocking. It shows that they are willing make a big movie like Kites a flop if it had no meat and Band Baaja Baarat a hit if it had its heart in the right place.

Utt Patang is one such movie craving for audience attention as it has the potential to grow as day passes because of the strong word of the mouth publicity if done, convincingly. Utt Patang is another small smart film that has the power to keep you hooked in its own world.

Final Word? If watching out of the box themes are your choices, make a smart choice and head for Utt Patang, right away. This one promises to be NO UTT PATANG in the name of entertainment! Recommended!!!

Let' s see the story of the movie in the supreme words of Mr. Taran Adarsh who seems to be very much pleased with this small outing

"Utt Patang talks of incidents that occur in one night. Vinay Pathak is on the brink of a break up, caught in a dangerous money deal gone horribly wrong. Caught in this chase for the bagful of money is his private detective friend Saurabh Shukla, a heartbroken woman [Mona Singh], a French-obsessed gangster [Vinay Pathak, again] and the gangster' s moll [Mahie Gill], all thrown into a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse chase. Layers of secrecy unfold and the game gets worse as the night wears on"

"For any comic-thriller to succeed, it ought to clear the doubts -- in the most simplistic manner, mind you -- before the film reaches the finale. The screenplay [writers: Saurabh Shukla and Srikanth V. Velagaleti] is almost perfect, except for an instance towards the second half. The best part about this film is that barring the simpleton Vinay Pathak, everyone has a crooked/shady side to him/her, which makes them appear very real. In fact, each one is double crossing the other and that' s why you feel ecstatic.'

Wow! Brilliant effort thankfully not gone wrong this time! This is mainly because of the reason that screenplay writers and director compliment so vehemently that it leaves no places for any hiccups to be taken out.

If direction is watertight then its direction is top-notch. Hey Sankalp Meshram, take a bow buddy as we give you brownie for such a sharp editing. We are speechless! Even Saurabh Shukla' s dialogues are perfect and realistic to the core. Even other technical personals have done well, as well.

Talking of the performances, Vinay Pathak proves it yet again that he is indeed such a superb actor. His French accent is also good and is a refreshing change as he was getting typecast in similar kind of roles.

Saurabh Shukla is remarkable and same could be said about Mahie Gill. Mona Singh does well. Sanjay Mishra does not get much scope, sad to see this so talented actor being wasted. Other actors support main protagonists well.

On the whole, Utt Patang is a really surprise and gives us much-needed break from run-of-the-mill bollywood stuff. It' s a difficult film to execute and despite that it does well. If you have panache for watching out-of the box movies, don' t miss it!!!

Rating - ****(Cool Attempt)

Verdict - Utt Patang is no Utt Patang in the name of entertainment!
